The 2009 “Boring Games are Dead” Challenge has begun. We call on you to develop a game for PC using XNA Game Studio, Visual Studio and/or the Expression Studio tools.

The competition is exclusively available only to developers from South Africa.  Full competition details are available from Boring Games Are Dead.

Registrations close on 10 June 2009.  To register for the gaming competition, register on this site and then add your registration to the Gamers list below.

We did not reach the required minimum 25 entries for the gaming competition.  Hence, we will unfortunately have to cancel the competition and try again next year.

red vs blue

It's a game, built using XNA studio. You choose if you want to be the red or blue ball of clay and then you play against the computer and try and kill the other ball of clay. During game play all sorst of useful things will fall from the sky or appear on your 'home' side of the screen. If the other clay ball gets to them first, then they get to use it against you.

You have 5min in which to kill the other clay ball, otherwise you lose automatically.
Missile

The enemy has launched nuclear missiles. Only you and your anti-missile ground weapon can save your base from destruction.
Gravitag

Two tilt-to-steer ufos flying in the gravity well around a planet, each player trying to destroy the other with glowy bullets. Distilled UFO gravity fun.
Death Laser 5000

After going to play laser tag our player finds out that he's in for more that he bargained, the laser tag is a full on battle to the death.

The game consists of a first person shooter written in XNA, where in the player needs to defeat the computer in a game of laser tag to advance to the next level.
